Portion of Glade Road Phase 1 to begin summer 2017

Sunday, April 30 2017 8:46 PM

The City of Colleyville is in the final stages of acquiring the right-of-way (ROW) necessary to reconstruct a portion of Glade Road Phase 1.

Phase 1 of the project includes the roadway between Bransford Road to Manning Drive. The portion that is going to be constructed first, starting summer 2017, runs from Bransford Road to Colleyville Boulevard. While city staff has not yet established a detailed construction timeline, the City plans to begin work this summer to limit disruptions to traffic, especially for motorists going to the nearby school.

Work includes a new through lane at Bransford Road, which will improve intersection efficiency. The project will also add an 8’ trail on the north side of Glade Road and a 5’ sidewalk on the southside.

The remaining portion of Phase 1 will move forward to construction once the city acquires all necessary ROW. The remaining section of Glade Road Phase 1 includes the realignment of the Bedford Road intersection, a roundabout at Riverwalk Drive, and lowering the elevation of Glade Road at Bluebonnet Drive to improve sight distance, which removes the need for stop signs at this intersection.

City Council continues to review designs for the rest of the project from the western city limits to Bransford Road and from Manning Drive to Heritage Avenue.
